About Me

I'm a illustrator/designer and a maker based in a small village, Ardeley, Hertfordshire.

I am now a Mummy so I mix the everyday craziness of a small one toddling around with my love of drawing and creating.

I originally trained at KIAD in Canterbury, Kent for 2 years specialising in Fine Art using a lot of mix media and collage. I then graduated from UEL with a BA Hons degree in 2000 in printed textiles and surface pattern.  So I've always had a love of mixing media.

I have been working in the greetings industry for the last 14 years. Designing across all greetings and stationary products for the major UK high street stores and supermarkets. Clients who have brought my artworks include to name but a few,

BHS, Boots, Harrods, John Lewis, Sainsbury's, Tescos, Waitrose, WHS

As well as in America including Marmaxx, Target and Walmart.

I have also been involved in various small bespoke projects ranging from wedding stationary, CD artwork and one-off pieces of commissioned artworks.

Working across a diverse range of products and experimenting with many medias. Digital, fabric and stitch, collage, ink, pastel, pencil and paint. I have a good commercial awareness, understanding of design and colour aswell as an eye for something more unique.

I have also spent some time working with a Christmas decorations company which brought a new aspect to my knowledge of the industry. Learning new skills from designing their trade fair stand to selling the product mixed with knowledge I already had on trends and designing from concept through to production.

The other half of my creative side is crafting and making. I have been crafting ever since I can remember. I have fond memories of my mum and my grandmothers teaching me various skills from a young age. It's these skills which I now constantly call upon. I try and use a mix of new and carefully chosen old materials and embellishments, it's great to recycle say a used piece of clothing and lots of lovely embellishments and turning them into a beautiful and new gift, giving them a new lease of life.

I have been freelance for 4 years after the big studio I worked in relocated. This has given me the chance to use all my knowledge and skills I've built up, to try new things and experiment and push the boundaries of my work. It gives me the time and opportunity to explore new things. I have many skills I want to call upon and revisit again this coming year, to try and push my design skills even more.

I am now working with several design agencies, freelancing along with building products and ranges for myself.

I am in the process of working up 'off the peg' pieces for my Etsy shop and you will also find me on facebook and instagram.
