Lily Ladybird

Its Friday at last!!!! what a long 'ole week it' s been this week. Have a fantastic weekend and a Happy Halloween everyone. I should have drawn some pumpkins to go with the lady bird but....

I don't get chance to play about and experiment with characters very often...which means I need more practice. But here's my starting point with a new one...what do you think.

Birds and Suffolk Puffs

Here are the Suffolk Puffs (or yo-yos to some of you) I attempted tonight they came out smaller than I was expecting but fine to use for decorating some of my little items and great for a first attempt in many many moons. I tracked down some step by step instructions at Burda for anyone who wants a go themselves.

I've sat and cut out plenty of birds tonight they are pinned and ready to go. I also made up a tester one for my friend Laura's cats. I'm going to make her some for cat toys but we need to test if I've put enough catnip in the stuffing. Here she is, a pretty little pinky spotted one.

the crafters companion

Yay!! my other book has arrived and now I'm all inspired!! The crafter's companion landed on my desk at work today from those nice little Amazon people. ooo it's got me wanting to do lots of nice new things....so little time and so many things to do. Here's a few little snaps to give you the idea. I'm rather jealous of some of their workspaces....I will get mine....eventually. For now my lounge will have to do.

Autumn leaves

I just loved these colours against the bright blue autumn skies at the weekend.

Bunting and bows

Beth has been doing a grand job keeping our bunting and bows website up to date and refreshing it. We are constantly adding and changing our range of products some you will have seen here some are new. Why not pop over and have a look.

This week's cushion projects!

Here's the first cushion of the week. The other is still work in progress.
There's a cupcake on the back like I've done before on some bunting. The other one is rather very different to this cushion. It's a cushion for a christening I'm going to this sunday For my little cousin, Abigail.

Fungi and autumn rivers

I've been rather a busy bee this week, works manic and I've had two cushions to get made. Nearly there on those I shall post piccies.
I took some photos the weekend before last that I didn't get chance to post. I took some photos of this fungi I've been eyeing up for a couple weeks watching it grow. I thought it looked fab! Then we popped into a local village called Ware and parked up by the river.

Jam-Finished :)

All finished and now looking pretty.

Jam

Morning all....well along with my mini bunting last night I made some jam. My first ever attempt and I think its come out well. We shall see the proof is in the tasting, hey. So Giles can be chief taster at the weekend. He wanted seedless so I had to strain one pot. I've made up a few labels today. What do you think? I'll have them stuck and the finished article will be ready to go tonight.

Mini bunting

The last couple of evenings I've been cutting out triangles of fabrics in different sizes for my buntings. With some of the off cuts I thought I'd try some mini ones maybe for tree decorations seen as I now have christmas goodies in my head. They're all pinned and ready to be sewn, then the ribbon sewn along the top. Maybe tomorrow nights job we shall see.

Birds...again yes I know.

I found this little tree at work and thought they might look cute on there. I just need to make some more to fill it up now. The lighting wasn't great but watch this space.

New Material buys this week....

These are my goodies for the week. I had a bit of a charity shop buy up. Lots of lovely patterned, mainly striped cotton shirts/blouses, which came with a handful of buttons....once I cut them all off.  I'll let you know what they may turn into. I'm sensing a few birds but thought they would be great for some of my bunting triangles.
