It's that time of year again

It's that time of year again when all the christmas cards and wrapping paper is starting to hit the shelves then I go off looking to see if mine have appeared on the shelves yet. I was in John Lewis at lunchtime and theirs are merrily finding their way on the shelves and I spotted two of my designs. The photos came out rather badly so I've resorted to screen grabs from the shop online. Find them here.

I finished my first batch of stars last night. Not a bad start though I think the shape may need a tweak but its a good start. Start on the birds tonight I think.

My gorgeous man's new phone was going to get trashed if I didn't make it something. So here's another phone sock. I had lots of sewing to do last night, made a friends draught excluder but nothing exciting just brown velvet recycled from an old curtain and mending someone else's top Oh and I didn't quite get my stars sewn up last night thats for tonight!

Kent Mama article is finally here and live online

My bunting and bows article is finally here! Yipeee. Beth and I are finding it very exciting but also a bit nervous that nothing will come of it....so fingers crossed everyone.

It's in this issue of KentMama the Autumn issue. Click on the front cover of the magazine and it will take you to the online magazine. It's all got very clever theses days with online magazines don't you think!? Were on page 41 and our small advert is on page 15 oh and we also have a photo of my bunting on the front cover.

Kent Mama is a free parenting magazine distributed among schools, doctors surgeries, dentists, libraries & supermarkets etc.It's been going 3 years already and doing really well.

Here's a sneak preview. I can't wait to get a copy through the post. Those of you who live in Kent in the Maidstone and Medway areas you'll be able to pick a copy up somewhere near you.

Hot Air Balloons over Hertfordshire

These beauties took off yesterday right near me so I had to take the opportunity get out there with the camera and some shots. It seemed to be the perfect day for floating thoughtlessly through blue skies and autumn sunshine...I will have to have a go one day.

Hearts

Here are a few of the padded hearts I made tonight.They're approx 9 x 11cm in size. Any colour or theme cane be accounted for and I can personalise them with an initial if required. Great little tree decorations,a little something to hang on your wardrobe door or just a little something special for a friend.

Now that everywhere is starting to put out christmas products whether it be christmas puddings as my gran told me last week or it be the wrapping paper and cards sneaking onto the shelves. For everyone it may seem a little early and I agree outside of my work brain but for me well I work on christmas everyday all year round at work. I thought I'd share with you this bauble I've been working on the last couple of days on and off, it's been rather fiddley and taken a while to get it right.

oooh magazine article is going to press today

Just a wee bit excited today as Bunting and Bows magazine article is off to get printed. I saw the final draft last night. It's only a small article but hopefully lots of people will see it and the start of something new for us. It's part of an article based on making mum's that have turned hobbies into businesses, seen as my business partner Beth is mum to a beautiful little girl called Matilda we qualified to get involved in this.  As some of you probably have already seen previous posts it's in a parenting magazine called Kentmama. It goes live online next monday and will also be distributed across north Kent in school bags, in libraries and in surgeries, those sort of places. Once I have the copy in my hand I shall be posting it on here. If we are hitting the right market with this one we can think about further advertising.

Conkers

Well they said the conkers would be here early and they certainly are....some have started dropping near me. I just had to collect a few and take some photos. The colours and patterns are amazing! Though the light I took them in last night was pretty shocking they came out not too bad in the end.

Summer sunshine

The sun is out again today inside it feels a little like the summer. So I looked back and found a few sunny photos from earlier in the year that I love.Hope you do too.

Phone/i-pod socks

My poor little phone sock below needs a bit an update I think but I thought I'd show you anyway. I'm thinking of making one for my pocket drive to protect it whilst carrying around everyday. I've made a few phone socks for friends  one for Laura above and have one to make for her i-pod  too
