Wowthankyou

As most of you know Wowthankyou is launching this Friday, the 5th March. It's a new online shop selling lots of lovely handmade things. It is looking like it will out there to rival the likes of notonthehighstreet.com, etsy and folksy and plenty of others that are popping up.

My blue Tara bunting which I made for a friend is on the showcase reel here.Which is exciting!! (it's the 5th slide in) Beth and I have a little shop on there with Bunting and bows, watch this space for more details on that and my next step towards freelance and decisions on my next moves.

Springs here - part 2

Ok so I blogged the other week once I saw the pretty snowdrops poking their heads through here are a few more...I've seen the first signs of Daffs too but none out in my neck of the woods just yet. The catkins were out though always loved them.
Amongst the grey skies and pouring rain the sun did appear briefly to make this beautiful rainbow, sadly you never seem to capture them as they appear. It was so big neither I or G could fit it in in one shot so I've quickly joined up two photos. Shame the sky is still so grey though.
The snowdrops are coming up all over the garden now and look stunning amongst the yellow flowers and against the brief blue skies.
In a wander down to the woods I saw these fungi and mosses too. Thought they made great patterns. Don't you just love all the natural patterns mother nature makes. Such bold colours too. The fungi looks like it could be something underwater too.

Cute felt book

I got these two books for my friend Emma's birthday. I knew she'd seen the photos on an earlier blog post of the Poppy Treffry one and the other I just thought looked really cute and when it arrived it didn't disappoint.
Felties by Nelly Pailloux I got here on Amazon and the Poppy Treffry one there too, here.
The little Nelly characters were very cute and I just loved the way all the pages were laid out and the illustrations.

Lovely cards

My friend Miguel is a very talented guy. He's got an amazing great talent for paper products in all shape and forms. Here are the 2 cards he's made me one for christmas and one for my birthday last week. the bird cage one needs a bigger frame though I think.

Brooch

Well I nearly got this finished last night. just got the backing to sew on and attach the button. The cotton wool crocheted up tighter and neater I think but it was harder work to get going. It has a different feel to it. Its come up slightly smaller by using the cotton and by using a finer needle which I wanted. Lets hope she likes it :)

Wool, fabric and frames

After a little trip today to John Lewis I thought I'd show you what I picked up. Then I'll be able to show what creations I come up with. The frame is for a christening present I've yet to make for a couple of weeks time and the wool well I want to make some more crochet flower brooches and love the pattern I have but feel it maybe coming up too big for some people so I got some cotton wool and some finer needles in the hope of it being smaller. Oh and I spotted this funky green fabric swatches only small pieces but I couldn't leave them behind.

Funky Floral Pattern Sheet

Floral pattern sheet 2. Must say I've enjoyed trying out some new designs and experimenting with something other than christmas and using a nice bright colour palette. Still so much to sort out.

Crochet Brooch mark 2

Mark one brooch in situe on my bog wooly wrap. You can see the size more now. It's rather big at 4 1/2 inches. But great for a coat or to pin on a bag don't you think?
Mark two in a tealy colour, though it looks really blue in these photos. Same size think I need ot look at some smaller ones now.

Birthday Books

Here are a few shots of some of the lovely books I was treated to for my birthday :)
Two gorgeous Cath Kidston books to add to my growing collection. So many lovely projects to either make or take inspiration from.
This cute little bird mobile is just the thought I had for my little stitched birds (below)

So many pretty little things in this pocket sized book.
Lots of reading to do for me now with these two. Hopefully lots of top tips too :)

All these books can be found on Amazon.
